As the SEO Specialist at Simple, you will implement and manage a comprehensive SEO strategy. In this position, you will work to write SEO-driven content, produce assets that attract attention, and develop Simple’s link acquisition strategy. You will also own app store listings and identify areas for optimization. You should know all aspects of Search Engine Optimization - on page factors, external factors, and everything in-between.
In this role, you’ll work most closely with the Onboarding product team, a collection of technical marketers, engineers, and designers who work along all parts of the marketing funnel - from awareness and acquisition to retention and referral - to drive product growth and connect customers with value in their first 90 days on Simple. You’ll report to the Digital Marketing Manager.
You love finding out and testing different ways to makes websites and pages rank for keyword terms. You have no problem being assertive when you see an opportunity to improve something. You are detail-oriented, analytical, results-driven, and you love reporting both successes and failures. You’re happy geeking out on personal finance (or would be, if it weren’t historically so boring). You have a growth mindset, thrive in a less prescriptive environment, and are excited by the prospect of building something new.
What you’ll do day-to-day:
Ensure simple.com is following all SEO best practices
Ensure simple’s apps are following all App Store Optimization best practices
Create, implement, and own link building initiatives
Ensure all new content added to simple.com is optimized
Track impact of improvements made to site, links acquired, and app store listings
Monitor competitor’s strategies and performance
What we like to see:
You have successfully managed SEO programs for sites that receive more than 250K sessions per month
You have a deep knowledge and understanding of SEO tools (Moz, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Majestic, etc.) and analytics tools (Google Analytics, SQL, Chartio)
Proven experience reporting on SEO KPIs
Experience in app store optimization
Proven track record of success in acquiring and building links
Experience editing HTML and CSS (experience with static site generators like Middleman and Jekyll a plus). Experience with SQL and Git also a plus
