Innovative Changes (IC$) is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Loan Fund that helps
people build long-term financial health. Our guiding principles work to advance economic justice for
those underserved and excluded by the mainstream financial services sector, and celebrate the
diverse cultures of our communities by implementing culturally responsive programming.

Summary of Position:
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to serve in a dynamic and growing micro-finance nonprofit organization? IC$ is looking for a part-time intern to assist with the development and implementation of a marketing plan to expand our services including our financial education, financial coaching, credit building program and credit building products to our target populations. We are also looking to build a brand that is represented on our website, outreach materials, and other marketing materials. The position is perfect for flexible, independent individuals willing to work both “out in the field” and in an office setting. Ideal candidates will be creative individuals with a passion for financial empowerment and personal/consumer finance. This is a yearlong volunteer internship with a 20/week commitment.

Key Responsibilities:
o Research non-profit marketing plans with a special focus on social media and messaging and branding strategies.
o Research agencies, colleges, universities and financial institutions in Portland Metro area that serve specific populations such as youth, women, communities of color, LBGTQ communities, people living with disabilities etc, and develop inclusive outreach strategies.

o Develop a robust marketing plan for our programs that includes; a social media plan, messaging and branding strategy, goals and targets for coming year.
o Develop marketing materials, i.e. flyers, posters, other visuals to be distributed to partners.
o Integrate social media and messaging into website, ongoing updates of website

o Conduct outreach to agencies, colleges, universities and financial institutions in Portland Metro area that serve our target populations and communities.
o Recruit partners through one-on-meetings and community meetings with agency representatives.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Graphic design experience
• Spanish language skills a plus
• Previous experience with marketing
• Knowledge / experience with Portland’s non-profit industry serving underserved populations
• Experience with social media
• Knowledge of or interest in personal finance and credit
