Description:
We’re looking for a full time administrative manager to work with a local owner of a chain of 4 retail shoe stores, Gimre’s Shoes, Inc. Gimre’s Shoes owns and operates a comfort shoe store in downtown Hillsboro and 3 New Balance shoe stores in Portland & Seattle.
The schedule is flexible and contains plenty of variety to keep things interesting. It also offers valuable experience with the inner workings of a business. The business is well established and respected in the shoe market, selling very high quality comfort shoes and emphasizing genuinely helpful, honest, and friendly customer service.

Tasks and responsibilities include: Regularly scheduled sales reports, payroll analysis, email and direct mail list maintenance, delivering and picking up items between stores, tracking employee contests and performance, tracking projects, ordering supplies, tracking marketing and other expenses, website updates, and updating procedures, training, and policy manuals. A steady flow of varied one-time projects will add excitement to the schedule of regularly occurring tasks. Assisting with special event set-ups and sales, including but not limited to: the after Thanksgiving Day sale, Race for the Cure, and other seasonal in-store events.

A competitive applicant is: able to self manage, is well organized and accurate. Must possess fundamental computer skills and knowledge (including email, Windows 7 and up, Word and Excel proficiency), is able to think critically and problem-solve, and has the ability to travel occasionally around the Portland west side metro area between stores. Also must be able to work well without direct supervision, believe in a quality work product, and have great oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of Photoshop is a bonus.


Application Guidelines/Contact:
$12-14/hour DOE. Benefits available also include employee pricing discounts on shoes, apparel, accessories, plus vacation and sick time.

About 35 to 40 flexibly scheduled hours/Week, Mon-Friday, occasional event weekends.
