Project Manager – Application Development

Trackers Earth is an outdoor education organization serving over 20,000 students a year. We need an incredible Project Manager to develop software to help us and other outdoor education organizations better serve students and communities. Learn more about our purpose.Who You AreYou work closely with the development team to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules stay on target. You also work with the end users (management and administrative team) to define project requirements and deadlines. Responsibilities include submitting project deliverables, tracking project status, and executing clear project communication both internal to the execution team and external to the end users.To be a successful candidate, you need to have proven experience in project management and the ability to lead small project teams. We prefer a candidate with experience in an iterative development environment and experience with Agile management methods. The successful candidate will be exceptionally detail oriented, and adept at both written and verbal communication.Your Work at TrackersCoordinate with team members to make sure all parties are in agreement with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules. This includes the creation and maintenance of project requirements and schedule.Meet with project team members to identify and resolve issues.Review project deliverables and ensure that they adhere to quality standards.Execute an effective, consistent project communication plan.Document change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.Coordinate the development of user manuals, training materials and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to the clients.Obtain internal and external customer acceptance of project deliverables.Manage internal and external customer satisfaction within project transition period.Conduct post project evaluations, and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.Position is approximately 20 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours in the future.RequirementsA bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and see them through to completion.Experience with at least one formal project management methodology.Able to complete projects in a timely manner.Comfort with various communication platforms, eg.: Slack, Google Drive, Trello.An appreciation for education with kids, the natural world, and outdoor adventure
