EDITOR 

Oregon Catholic Press (OCP), the largest U.S. Catholic publisher
of liturgical music and digital print and worship aids is seeking a full-time Music
Editor in our Music Editorial department. If you have a passion for doing

Music Editors prepare music for publication using the music
notation program Finale and must have demonstrated knowledge  of music, music notation and be proficient in
one or more instruments (may be voice).  The
Music Editor consults with various departments including Music Development,
Engraving and Worship Publications, and works directly with composers.   Excellent
communication and organizational skills are key for this position.

Essential
Functions:

·        
Prepare music for publication: plan,
edit, proof, coordinate and communicate effectively with composers and other
internal and external staff members for the following: songbooks, online
publications, choral   octavos, accompaniment books and other projects as
assigned·        
Creatively carry out the vision of the
composer in a detail-oriented manner·        
Ability to manage time and project
tasks to meet deadlines·        
Maintain and support key music data
tools and editing processes·        
Maintain full-time, regular office
hours; attend departmental and company meetings·        
Participate on Music Review Board prior
to publication·        
Work collaboratively with other
editors and departments·        
Assist Customer Service by providing
technical music information to customers and to staff as neededQualifications
and Requirements:·        
Bachelor’s Degree in Music·        
Bilingual (English and Spanish)·        
Strong independent decision-making
skills ·        
Advanced knowledge of music and music
notation software (Finale preferred)·        
Proficiency in one or more instruments
(guitar preferred)·        
Intermediate knowledge of database
programs (Filemaker)·        
Experience (6–12
mos) in a liturgical music program (leadership preferred)·        
Thorough knowledge of music theory
(classical/contemporary/popular genres)·        
Strong sight-reading skills·        
Strong organizational/time management
skills·        
Excellent interpersonal skills·        
Must be an ideal team

Clear, precise, and professional oral
communication skills·        
Strong writing, spelling, and
proofreading skills·
