Program Description:Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA) is a non-profit public benefit corporation that provides integrated marketing services to help western United States agribusinesses develop and expand their export sales. The Global Connect program works to promote companies and their products outside of the United States.Purpose of the Position:The purpose of this position is to direct and manage all aspects of the Global Connect program by developing and implementing policies and procedures consistent with the federal and state rules. The position reports to the Executive Director of WUSATA.Description of Duties:Develop and recommend policies and procedures for the program.Implement approved policies and procedures for the programPerform supervisory functions by interviewing, selecting and providing training for new staff; evaluating subordinates’ performance, and ensuring adequate and competent staffing for the program.Assist in the preparation of the administrative and program budget and manage the Global Connect program budget.Educate and inform varies parties including companies, state officials, marketing officials, industry representatives, USDA cooperator organizations and other organizations and individuals about the program and policies and procedures to access and utilize the program.Review and edit Global Connect project proposals and international marketing plans for optimum industry participation and export performance.Oversee the review process of expense reimbursement claim documents to confirm compliance with MAP and other government regulations and WUSATA policy.Track all Global Connect projects and corresponding results. Assess all projects and implement policy procedures and changes as needed.Supervises the management of certain MAP projects, such as trade shows, inbound and outbound missions and EMO projects.Represent WUSATA and the Global Connect program by attending and making presentations at seminars, training sessions and trade shows.Other duties and projects as assigned by the Executive Director.Working Conditions:General Office environment. Moderate amount of overnight and international travel. Requires making presentations to large groups of people.Supervisory Duties:Directly supervise and oversee work done by the Global Connect Team.Qualifications and Competencies:Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing or a related field and 2 years of professional related experience or equivalentMust have at least one year of supervising professionalsDemonstrated experience developing and executing all aspects of a program: developing program rules and policies, establishing goals and plans, evaluating program effectiveness and managing to budgetMust have outstanding organization and administrative skillsExcellent management skills: selecting, coaching, evaluating performance, carrying out training of subordinates and new project managers.Proven ability to interface and work with a variety of agency officials, marketing professionals and industry representatives to execute program resultsKnowledge of international issues and challenges and ability to assess effectiveness of marketing plansGood communication skills: verbal, written and oral presentationsGood leadership and management skillsExcellent at exercising fiscally responsible decision-makingSalary and Benefits:Competitive Benefits PackageSalary, Depends on ExperienceTo Apply: Submit Cover Letter and Resume by close of business by October 15, 2018.WUSATA is an equal opportunity employer.
