Community-Based Services Specialist

The Community-Based Services Specialist supports Oregon
communities through destination development programming to help build resilient
regional leadership, impactful action teams, dedicated capacity, creative
partnerships, and thriving networks. This role supports Travel Oregon trainings
and the resulting steering committees, action teams and network managers and
aids in refining strategies and objectives to create world-class tourism
product and thriving, sustainable economies.

places.We are currently recruiting for a Community-Based Services
Specialist to join our Destination Development team in downtown Portland.  Reporting to the Community-Based Services
Director, this role works with community leaders and industry partners to
support building tourism development in manageable, sustainable ways as well as
to develop partnerships and leverage resources to create thriving economies.The successful candidate is an adept program manager who can
effectively identify and create program strategies and objectives. To learn

degree OR equivalent work experience in fields of study such as tourism, community
development, business, economics, community/regional planning is required.A minimum of
three years of experience in facilitating community meetings, strategic
planning and/or program management is required. Experience working in rural
communities is highly desired.Energized by
public speaking, meeting facilitation/facilitating group processes. Highly
developed oral and written communication skills.Flexibility
to respond and change, as needed, to meet the requirements of stakeholders and
local communities. A collaborative work style is essential.Working
knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet and email computer functions.
Familiarity with web development, project management and file sharing programs
such as Word Press, Basecamp and Dropbox helpful.An
