Opus Search Partners, Inc. is an independent executive recruitment firm conducting senior-level searches for clients in higher education, healthcare, investment management, and the broad not-for-profit world. Our clients include research universities, academic medical centers, specialized hospitals, and foundations. In order to work closely with our clients in the way that we believe provides the greatest value, we conduct a limited number of searches at a time. This approach enables our Senior Associates to remain completely involved in every phase of the search. We conduct our searches guided by three tenets:•    Clients deserve the complete involvement of experienced recruiters in every phase of the search process.•    Thorough evaluation of qualified candidates informed by deep understanding of the client organization is the key to the successful    selection of new executives.•    Long-term relationships between clients and Senior Associates rest on mutual respect and understanding; the delivery of a search process that is transparent as to strategy, progress, costs, and results is the best way to strengthen this relationship. The Search ProcessA client engagement begins with the selection of Opus to recruit an executive to a defined new or vacant position in the client organization. A senior employee of the firm at the Partner or Principal level leads the engagement and is responsible for the success of each phase of the process – due diligence on the client, identification of potential candidates, development of the candidate pool, interview of strongest candidates, presentation of candidates to client, management of the client’s selection process, reference check, and negotiation of terms. On each search, the Partner or Principal is supported by one or more Senior Associates/Associates in many phases of search execution, with particular emphasis on the work to identify and qualify strong candidates.         Opus is committed to the professional development of employees. Strong performance against the core responsibilities of the Senior Associate/Associate role will lead to increased involvement in other phases of the search process, including primary responsibility for the management of candidates, contact with clients, and opportunities to grow, in the long run, into Principal-level responsibilities.Responsibilities:•    Support Partners and Principals in the execution of multiple search engagements.•    Basic research into industry sectors, employers, candidates – conducted via internet and other publicly available sources.•    Define and supervise the conduct of specific research projects by researchers.•    Establish and exploit relationships with private and public sources (job sites, membership associations, etc.) as approved by Partners and Principals.•    Pool development: approach identified potential candidates by phone, represent the opportunity professionally, engage candidates in conversation about their background and credentials, and provide preliminary assessment of candidates’ qualifications to the Partner/Principal in charge of the search.•    Develop standard and ad-hoc reports for Partners/Principals to forward to clients on status of each search, candidate pool, recruitment issues, etc. – or forward those directly to the client at the request of the Partner or Principal.•    Participate in the scheduling of candidate interviews and other logistics of a search process as is appropriate.•    A wide range of other ad-hoc activities related to the growth of Opus Partners and the execution of search projects, including support for marketing and new-business- development activities, preparation of presentation materials, identification of opportunities (requests for proposals, requests for information, position postings, professional-association meetings, etc.), and other potential opportunities for growth.Qualifications: •    A bachelor’s degree, preferably in the social sciences; evidence of coursework that requires substantial independent research (honors thesis, independent study, research project, etc.).•    Preference for previous experience in retained executive search with emphasis on research and/or candidate development and qualification.•    Excellent oral and written communication skills – including the ability to generate concise narrative and tabular reports and a high degree of comfort communicating professionally with multiple parties by phone and email.•    Strong internet-based research skills.•    Demonstrated competence with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard office software as well as with databases.•    The ability to conduct multiple concurrent projects of differing duration.•    Enthusiasm, energy, professional ambition, a good sense of humor, a clear customer-service orientation, a commitment to high-quality work, and the ability to sustain long (multi-month) projects.•    Must be a self-starter with good judgment, an instinct to collaborate, and a strong work ethic.•    Ability to work for several supervisors and balance workloads effectively through open communication.•    Senior Associate/Associate is dependent upon candidate qualifications and experience. Please email your resume, a cover letter, and the names of three professional references to Katie Dean, Associate Partner:
