The folks over at CNN did some research and concluded that Portland is the best beer town in America! With 69 breweries in the metro area, a culture that fosters ale experimentation, and a plethora of annual brew-oriented festivals, Portland beat out historical favorites Boston and Philadelphia to take the crown. Oregon’s 40 Hottest New Jobs and the Naming of Portland’s Newest Bridge!

Construction on TriMet’s Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Bridge is in full swing, and the process to name the bridge has begun. Because Portland is known for its bridges, there will surely be a community interest in choosing the name of the newest addition to the bridge family. The 9th Annual Oregon Garden Brewfest takes place this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Oregon Garden in Silverton. There will be 62 breweries pouring 125 different brews as well as a variety of ciders, meads, and wines. For entertainment, 22 bands will be performing on two stages over the course of the weekend.
